Finally, an update!

If you've been in New York City for the last four days, then you know it's been H-O-T! And I don't have air conditioning so it's beem brutal. This morning I decided to take matters into my own hands. I stopped by Brooklyn General just up the street, picked up some muslin and thread and set out to beat the heat. After a few hours of sewing and tailoring, I introduce to you my latest invention: The Heatwave Vest.

The Heatwave Vest is a tropical weight, all natural garment which takes pocket technology to a whole new level. The four pockets are commodious enough to fit many things, but are ingeniously crafted to hold a standard sized ice pack in each. The vest is inspired by the safari look popularized by Yves Saint Laurent. It is suitable for any outing, be it formal or recreational.

Stay Cool!

Finally, an update!

I'm keeping busy with a few projects, some I can talk, some which aren't ready for primetime. I'm making the switch into wordpress so that I might actually update with more regularity. In the meantime, enjoy this lovely portrait of me, drawn by the very talented Guy Lee.

On the same wavelength

Philips Design has developed a new type of screen based on "furry" pixels. This could have some interesting possibilities for wearable projects. What really got my attention was the sketch—I almost thought it was one of mine! The funny thing is, when I was working on the Personal Space Suit, I too considered static as a catalyst for motion. Those guys at Philips are on it and doing some cool shit.

going live

If all goes well it's possible to see this entry. After a lot of off and on work, the site is finally to a point where I can put it up and test it. If you find anything that's not working please let me know.

My Summer at MSR

This is a quick little movie I did with Mike Buhkin in our (well my) final days in Redmond, Washington.
